Some of you have had this open for weeks and some of you downloaded it, looked at the zip file, and decided to deal with it later. Both are completely normal, and this lesson is written for the second group. If you are already using yours, keep using it, because your tasks are saved in that browser. Then skim to Part 4 and check the sidebar map against your screen. Lesson 9 hands everyone the updated version, with the steps to move over.
The page is the room your agents report into. It comes first, before anything technical, because agents that produce beautiful work into a place nobody opens are an elaborate way to end up with nothing. Building the agents and finding them a home afterward is how people end up with three of them running perfectly and no idea what any of them said this week.
A single page that runs on your own computer, and every part of that sentence is buying you something.
It is one file. You double-click it and it opens in whatever browser you already use, and nothing installs anywhere.
You do not sign up for anything. No account, which means no password to lose and no welcome email to ignore.
It works with the wifi off. On a plane, in a room with concrete walls and one bar of signal, in the parking lot between clients.
Everything you type stays on your own machine. It saves into your browser, on your computer. It never gets uploaded and nobody else can see it. The flip side of that deserves saying out loud now rather than being discovered in week three, which is that opening it on a different computer gets you a blank one. Use the machine you work on most days.
Later in the course, your agents write into this page. Today it is a task list and a projects view, and that on its own is worth the twenty minutes.
The file arrived as a zip, which is a folder that has been squashed down for sending. Nothing about it is technical, and it takes one action to undo.
On Windows, right-click it, choose Extract All, then click Extract. The same folder appears in the same place.
It opens in your browser. That is your command center.
There are four other things in the folder, and none of them needs anything from you today. CLAUDE.md is a fill-in-the-blank file about your practice, and it is the whole of lesson 3. agent-worker-TEMPLATE.js is the starting code for your first agent, and it waits for lesson 5. START-HERE.md is a short note on opening the page, and this lesson walks you through the same thing. notes/ is an empty folder for anything you want to keep near it.
Bookmark the tab now, while you are looking at it. Otherwise Monday morning turns into an archaeological dig through the Downloads folder, which is how something you meant to use ends up unopened.
One rule that prevents most of the questions people ask later, which is same browser, same computer, every time. If you open it in Chrome the first time, keep opening it in Chrome. It saves into the browser it was opened in, so opening it in Safari afterward shows you an empty page. Nothing has been lost. It is sitting in the other browser.
Top left of the sidebar, where it says Your Name and Your Practice. Click either one and type straight over it, the way you would edit any document. Press Enter, or click somewhere else, and it saves.
Small thing, thirty seconds, and it stops the page reading like a demo somebody sent you.
Add a task. In the sidebar there is a box called Quick Add with a field reading Add a task..., a dropdown to pick which project it belongs to, and an Add → button.
Start with whatever you have been carrying around in your head all week. The follow-up you have rewritten four times and still have not sent counts. So do the intake forms you keep meaning to redo, and the no-show policy you have been meaning to write since spring.
Add a project. Click Projects in the sidebar. There is a field reading New project name... with + Add Project underneath. Type, click, and it shows up in the Quick Add dropdown too.
Name them the way you think about your work. The ones that came with the page are a starting point and nothing more, so rename them, or ignore them entirely.
The task itself matters less than what just happened to the page. It has something of yours in it now, which is the whole difference between a tool you use and a tab you close.
Worth ninety seconds now so that nothing feels like a mystery later.

There are three buttons underneath, each of them one click.
If you have not connected Build Studio yet, it takes about two minutes and the five steps are in the getting-started post, folded inside the How do I get my link? toggle in Build Studio itself. Once connected, every tool you own shows YOURS with a link that opens it. Nothing in this course depends on it, so it can wait if you would rather get on.
Some panels are dimmed with a small lock on them. Two of them, Morning Review and Your AI Team, are the course drawn out in advance. They are dim today because there is nothing to put in them yet, and they fill in from lesson 9, with your agents doing your jobs.
The rest are examples of where a setup like this can grow, and this course does not build them.
You do not need any of the dimmed panels to get something out of this page today. Plenty of people run on the task list and the projects view for a month before they touch anything else, and that is a completely legitimate way to use it.

Private and incognito windows throw everything away when you close them. Worth naming out loud, because somebody will do it, lose an afternoon of tasks, and reasonably conclude the page is broken.
